Child dementia is a rare, incurable disease that turns children and their families upside down.
The disease NCL , which affects children and is known as "child dementia" , has so far been little researched. There is no cure for this metabolic disease, it progresses unstoppably and leads to early death.
The affected children gradually lose their eyesight, suffer from epileptic seizures and their cognitive and motor skills decrease continuously. In most cases, this ends with the death of those affected before their 30th year of life.

The importance of art auctions in the fight against children's dementia
There are diseases that hit us particularly hard and children's dementia is one of them. This disease mainly affects young people and leads to a rapid decay of nerve cells in the brain.
A diagnosis not only means a life in care, but also the end of lightness for the whole family. It is important that we deal with this topic as a society and find solutions to help affected children and their parents.
This is where the NCL Foundation and the fundraisers you carry out every year - such as the art auctions with life artists - come into play here: they not only offer a platform for awareness of the topic of childhood, but can also collect funds for research projects.
Many renowned artists are committed to offering their works at auctions in favor of combating children's dementia. By buying works of art at auctions, people can actively help combat the disease.

The previous benefit art auctions have made a significant contribution to the fact that various NCL research projects are on the basis of the clinical test phase. However, the further steps in development are very expensive.
It is therefore urgently needed that the NCL Foundation receives further support in order to offer affected children and their families new perspectives for previously missing therapy and healing options.
Save the Date: The next live art auction will take place on 07.02.2024 in Jensen's warehouse in Hamburg. Feel free to remember the appointment.
