Sculpture "Amor and Psyche" (1793), reduction in art marble
Amor leans tenderly over psyche and shone with his wings the death -like sleep, in which psyche had fallen due to a cunning of the jealous Aphrodite. Blessed, his lover gives his mouth to the kiss.
The great love between God and the beautiful king's daughter even stirred the Olympic gods: Zeus gave Psyche immortality, so that both could become a symbol of eternal love that should last for all storms of time.
Original: sculpture made of marble, 155 x 168 cm. Musée du Louvre, Paris.
Reduction. Format 37 x 20 x 39 cm. Edition as a museum replica, cast by hand in white, polymer-bound art marble.
