Hand -painted sculpture "Love couple" by Michael Pickl, artificial casting with wood finish

The Königsberg philosopher Immanuel Kant once wrote about Michael Pickl *1971, sculpture, was carved out of such crooked wood that nothing can be made from it. The Kastler sculptor Michael Pickl (born 1971) proves very unmetaphorically that the reversal does not apply: no wood is too crooked for him so that it does not make a person, a very modern even. With a coarse carving iron and with the finest knives, Pickl creates sculptures of completely and even contemporary men and women how they could meet us on the street every day and portray them in moments of relaxation and happiness. With its clearly showing the machining traces, the graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg was already represented at numerous exhibitions, including several times in the new art salon in the Haus der Kunst in Munich.
